Career Ambitions is an intensive experience over 4 weeks that helps participants to understand the most useful information to assist them in a career transition. These four seminars aim to provide the fundamentals of career transition and career search; assessment, resume development, targeting your search, and interviewing skills. After years of work in the private sector as corporate career counsellors and outplacement experts, facilitators will share their experience and knowledge about the process of job search.

Students looking for internships, co-ops, practicums, or summer or seasonal employment
New graduates entering the workforce for the first time
Re-entering the workforce following a leave
Retiring and still wanting to contribute in a new way
Unhappy in their current position; underchallenged, responsibility change or underemployed
Want to learn the essentials of job search
Career Ambitions is about developing personal marketing tools, a strategy & marketing plan, and knowledge and practice for meetings and interviewing. Groups will consist of no more than 6 participants and will include resume formatting and content reviews/feedback. All facilitators are currently working in the career development and search sector.
Week One: Self-Assessment and Job Search Skill Development
Identify your skills, knowledge, areas of expertise, and past accomplishments.
Week Two: Resume, Cover Letters, and Email Strategies
Learn how to create those important documents that open doors and secure meetings.
Week Three: Networking and Marketing Strategies
Develop an organized plan for your future career search; Career Plan: short and long term.
Week Four: Interview Preparation and Practice
Learn about the interview process and how to effectively and easily answer those difficult questions with some interview practice and coaching
