I live in Ontario, Canada and maintain a virtual private practice working with clients from Ontario, Canada, and around the world. I have been in the’ helping people sector’ for 25+ years—social work, settlement , case management, trauma therapist, psychotherapist, & career and leadership advisor.

I got into the helping profession by accident after a short 6 month contract working in Northern Alberta at Family and Social Services in my early 20s— I was hooked on helping. My original plan was to become an architect but my time with people who needed to be heard and supported pulled me towards psychology and a deep desire to understand our human experience.

At the time, I was lucky to have a great number of social workers and psychologists around me who both encouraged and guided me— always creating opportunities and experiences for me to learn. It was those early years that pushed me to curate and develop the skills that would later help me to work and live a meaningful life that fills my insatiable curiosity to understand humanity—both my own and others.

Therapy for me is about sitting in the pain of our human experience, letting go of what is no longer helpful, all the while continuing to learn, share oneself, and take risks.

I live in Toronto, Ontario with my family, and feel lucky to have the chance to virtually experience all the communities my clients’ call home.

I began my journey as a psychotherapist many years ago as an instructor and director in youth theatre. I was consistently struck by the impact and power of creative exploration on the self-esteem and personal development I witnessed in my students; it was then I decided to pursue a career where the therapeutic work could be the focus instead of a fortunate side-effect.

I first trained as a creative arts therapist and began supporting adolescents and their families, both as a therapist and a school counsellor. I spent several years taking care of my three young children, an experience that continues to add much depth and perspective to my counselling knowledge. I then embarked on a second master’s degree to expand my skills and be able continue the work here in Ontario. Since then I have been supporting adult clients experiencing significant and varied life transitions .

Therapy for me, is an opportunity to examine and contextualize outside of the noise and expectations of life; to face your true feelings, hopes and goals can be identified, accessed, and realized.

My involvement in human services began in my youth through personal and volunteer roles with aging populations in various settings, including nursing homes, private home caregiving, and assisted living. These experiences planted the seed of interest in pursuing a career in the helping profession! I began that journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Adult Development, which prompted my interest in the mental health sector and pursuit of a Master of Counselling.

Throughout my education, I completed several co-op work terms in the mental health sector, and discovered my love of psychotherapy. I deeply value meaningful relationships and view learning as a journey rather than a destination - both of which I have had the privilege of honouring through my work as a psychotherapist. Her eclectic and integrative approach include elements of attachment, narrative, solution-focused, family systems, mindfulness-based + cognitive-behavioural therapies.

I am consistently inspired by the human capacity to sit with, move through, and survive difficulty, our capacity for change and resilience, our capacity for love and connection, and our willingness to bravely step into vulnerability and show up authentically. This is what therapy is to me.

The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination. — Carl Rogers
